The traditional approach to drumming and teaching drums focuses entirely in the external aspects,i.e. hands technique, coordination, independence.
All of that is absolutely necesary to develop the ability for our body to play the instrument properly and efficently. However hardly any drumset book says anything about the internal aspects of training. This internal practice can greatly enhance our mastery of the instrument and our interpretation of music. In the next series of articles I will explain what the INTERNAL DRUMMING method of practice is, what it can do for you, how it does it and how to practice it in order to reap the greatest benefits.
